Angel and I(KatieV) get a lot of mail about this page as you might expect, ranging from support to intelligent criticism to hate filled homophobic rants. The page...*sigh* The page is controversial, there's no denying it. I personally do not believe that Faith and Buffy were ever together in the show's canon...except for maybe in BAD GIRLS between the fight scene and the dance scene. However, I do feel that there were emotions and moments between them(the moments we have illustrated on the page) that point to the possibility of a relationship between them. It's obvious that there are strong feelings between them and they do have a connection.

A number of people have chosen to express this possibility through fanfic. I myself have done this. So has Angel. The page was created to communicate with others who felt the same, and to show other people why exactly those who support the Buffy/Faith relationship do. It's a bit tongue in cheek-for example, the hand-holding. I can recognize that it was a plot device, but it *also* could be taken as slashy--subtext.

That's exactly what the page is-a page of subtext. A page for those who aren't content to be spoonfed the show, and want to go in there and make it their own, like Henry Jenkins talked about. There are numerous ways of reading something, and this page is the Faith/Buffy positive way of watching Buffy. Some parts of it are funny, some are silly, and some are downright serious.

It basically comes down to the fact that Angel and I and a ton of other people watch the show looking for moments that would support our idea of a Faith/Buffy relationship. As you can see, there are quite a few of them. We have to look at events from a different perspective than other people, have to read dialogue from a different angle. That's all the page is.

However, it's become more to other people-a endorsement of homosexuality, a den of sin, a ridiculous parody of the show. Yes, Faith and Buffy are both women and some people have a problem with that. We love the show-we're not making fun of it, we're deepening it. So that's the long, complicated explanation of the page. If you still want to flame us, the e-mail's at the bottom of the page...
